Redditch
We were approached by the Management Company for a Residential Development in Redditch, to recondition three bands of decorative render which ran the perimeter of one of their apartment blocks.
Over a period of time the bands had been patch repaired where required, they felt it was now time to have all three sections repaired and recoated, mainly due to safety concerns of existing areas of render coming loose and falling onto the surrounding paths.
Great care and attention was taken when hacking off the defective render, once all loose render was removed we embedded a woven fibreglass mesh within the wet base coat of render to the worst affected sections where it had gone back to bare brickwork, this also helps alleviate any future cracking. Once all work to the three bands of render had been completed we masked up all the non-work areas, protecting floors, windows, doors and balconies to ensure there was no overspray when the coating was applied.
Finally we applied a primer coat to the dusty and porous surfaces, this helps cohesion for the final coat. Our client’s colour of choice was Egyptian Papyrus, we used a breathable course textured coating which is applied around 10x thicker than conventional paint by using high pressure spray application, thus helping to blend any imperfections and offering a more uniformed finish.
