Mr & Mrs J – Warwickshire
Our client approached us to discuss his options for the repair and recoating of his silicone rendered property. They informed us that they had previously had issues with the render on the property when it was new and that the developer had applied a silicone render top coat directly over the existing smooth rendered surface.
The job was opened and it soon became apparent the applicators of the silicone render did not prepare the substrate appropriately. The silicone render had not bonded to the substrate in multiple areas, allowing for easy removal which presented us with existing cracks and dirt which had been rendered directly over.
Once all loose material was removed, the walls were cleaned and cracks were repaired using a lime-based render. Once the substrate was prepared, a silicone render was used to patch repair the damaged areas to blend the surface into one.
A final top coat of Sil W was spray applied over the repaired and existing silicone render to create a uniform and cohesive surface that looked brand new. Sil W is a high-performance silicone resin based coating specifically designed for use over Silicone rendered surfaces.
